SERVICES FOR THE
PARENTS-TO-BE.
The role of the father/co-parent can typically be difficult to understand right away to help the mother every step of the way. Below are a few tips to assist with the journey:
Support the Mom
As the father/co-parent of the baby, it’s imperative to reassure the mother that she is doing an excellent job. Be there to assist with whatever she needs to look after the baby.
Communicate
It’s important to communicate with each other about how being a parent has made you feel. Discuss your new roles together and the future of your bundle of joy (and do this often).
Deal with Visitors
While you’re both excited that so many people are happy for you, keep visitors to a minimum to give mom and baby time to rest.
Be Hands On
Give mom a break by changing diapers, bathing the baby, and comforting the baby. It will help you develop a bond with the child and give mom a break.
